Marlen Alabaster Bar Linear Pendant Light

The Nerine Overlapping Alabaster Wall Lamp sets a rounded panel of natural alabaster behind a gold-finished metal outline, with a slim bar crossing the stone diagonally where the two shapes meet. Light passes through the stone rather than out of an opening, so the panel glows evenly while the metal frame stays dark against it.

Choose a single fixture for a focused accent, or a Set of 2 to frame a bed, mirror, or entryway. A Set of 2 includes two complete lights, individually packaged and shipped together in one order.

WorthNoting

Where does this one differ?

The design is built on that overlap: the open metal loop sits proud of the stone and casts its own thin shadow across the glowing face, so the fixture reads as two layers rather than one flat plate. It projects just 3.5″ from the wall, shallow enough for a corridor or a bedside. Measures W 7.5″ × H 11″ with a ∅ 5.9″ backplate, in gold-finished metal and white alabaster, with an integrated 8W LED, for hardwired wall installation.

The Fit

Where It Belongs

Shallow Enough for a Corridor, Soft Enough for a Bedside

Nerine Overlapping Alabaster Wall Lamp mounted either side of a bed in a panelled bedroom

Beside the Bed, Mounted in a Pair

Nothing here points at you. The stone glows across its whole face instead of throwing light from an opening, so there is no bright source to catch in the corner of your eye — the wall simply warms, and the metal loop draws its own thin shadow across the panel. At 3.5″ from the wall it sits well inside the reach of a headboard, and the nightstand below stays clear for everything else.

Pick your wall

Bedside

Hung as a pair · W 7.5" × H 11"

One each side of the bed, usually around 58–62 in. from the floor or just above the headboard line. Small enough that two of them frame the bed without crowding it, and the glow reaches the pillow without reaching the sleeper's eyes.

Hallway & Corridor

Projects 3.5" · ∅ 5.9" backplate

Under four inches deep, which is what makes it usable in a passage where anything bulkier would catch a shoulder. Spaced along a run, each one marks a stretch of wall as a warm panel rather than a spotlight on the floor.

Stairwell, Powder Room & Alcove

W 7.5" × H 11" × D 3.5" · 8W integrated LED

Anywhere a wall is seen close up and there isn't room to be dramatic. On a stair wall it gives a landing something to read by without lighting the whole flight; flanking a powder-room mirror it puts soft light at face height from both sides; in an alcove or a reading corner it becomes the only thing that needs to be switched on. The overlap is what carries it at this scale — the loop standing proud of the stone means the fixture still has depth and shadow when you're standing three feet away from it.

The Stone

Natural Alabaster

Alabaster, not an alabaster look

Nerine Overlapping Alabaster Wall Lamp lit against a dark panelled wall and unlit against a pale wall

The same panel, dark wall and pale wall. Lit, the veining opens up from behind; unlit, it stays visible as stone.

Natural Alabaster

A pattern that was already there before we cut it.

Ours is cut from quarried stone. The veining runs through the thickness of the panel rather than across its face, which is why it changes as the light comes on — cloudier when the fixture is off, open and layered when it's lit from behind.

Polished to its final surface with no wax and no sealant. Nothing is applied over the stone to produce the glow, so the warmth comes from the material itself.

Cast Imitation

A pattern that was decided once, then repeated.

Most stone-look shades are resin or acrylic poured into a mould, with the veining printed or mixed in. Every unit comes out the same — the pattern is a design decision, not geology.

Because the material isn't translucent on its own, the glow usually depends on a coating or a film applied to the surface. What you see is the finish, sitting on top of the piece.

No two panels match. That is the point, and it is also the one thing a mould can never do.
