Marlen Alabaster Bar Linear Pendant Light

The Marlen Alabaster Bar Linear Pendant Light runs a single bar of natural alabaster the full length of a dining table, hung from two slim rods with a metal band wrapping the stone at each suspension point. Light comes from inside the bar rather than from an opening, so the whole length glows as one continuous line with no bright spot at the centre and no dark ends.

WorthNoting

Where does this one differ?

The profile is deliberately low: at just 4.5″ deep the bar sits close under the ceiling and stays clear of the sightline across a table, while its 63″ length gives it the reach to cover a full dining table or kitchen island. The two rods are set 31.5″ apart, which keeps the bar level over a long span. Available in a black or gold rod finish against white alabaster, with a 19.7″ rod drop and an integrated 80W LED, for hardwired ceiling installation.

The Fit

Where It Belongs

Long Enough to Cover the Table, Low Enough to See Across

Marlen Alabaster Bar Linear Pendant Light hung above a long counter in a stone-walled room

Over the Length of the Counter, One Unbroken Line of Light

The bar runs with the room rather than across it. Light comes from inside the stone, so there is no bright spot to sit under and no dark end to avoid — the glow reads the same at both ends of the run, and everything on the surface below is lit evenly from one edge to the other. At 4.5″ deep it stays high and out of the way, which is what makes a fixture this long usable over a working counter.

Where the length works hardest

Dining Table

63″ long · 9.1″ wide

Suits a table of roughly 6 to 8 ft. Centre the bar on the table's long axis with the rods landing over the two inner place settings. Hung 30–36″ above the tabletop, the stone sits above the sightline and diners see each other, not the fixture.

Kitchen Island

63″ long · 9.1″ wide

One fixture instead of three pendants — no gaps between pools of light, nothing to line up, and a single ceiling box to wire. Leave at least 6″ of island at each end so the bar reads as sitting inside the counter rather than overhanging it.

Bar & Long Console

63″ long · 9.1″ wide

Along a bar counter or a run of shelving, where the light needs to reach the full length without interruption. The shallow profile matters here more than anywhere: at 4.5″ deep with a 19.7″ drop it clears standing head height under a normal ceiling, and the stone stays visible as a horizontal line rather than as a row of hanging objects. Against rough stone or timber the alabaster reads warm and solid — a piece of the same material family, lit from within.

One or Three

Choosing Your Format

The same stone, two ways to hang it — and the room decides which

Marlen Alabaster Bar Linear Pendant Light glowing above a dining table in a timber-beamed room

One Bar

Marlen Linear

A single horizontal line, held level across the whole span.

The light arrives as one continuous band — no gaps, no repeating shapes, nothing for the eye to count. It draws a hard horizontal against the room, which is why it reads so well under beams, a pitched roof, or anywhere there are already strong lines overhead to answer to. One fixture, one ceiling box, and the length is fixed at 63″.

Choose this when

The table or island runs 6–8 ft and you want the ceiling to stay quiet. Also when the span is awkward to divide evenly, or the ceiling gives you one box and no appetite for more.

Three Caspian Conical Alabaster Pendant Lights hung in a row above a kitchen island

Three Cones

Caspian Conical

Three separate shades, each with its own pool of light beneath it.

Rhythm instead of a line. Each cone marks a place at the counter, and the spacing between them is yours to set — wider for a long run, tighter for a short one. Every shade carries its own veining, so the three read as related rather than identical. Add or drop one as the counter changes.

Choose this when

The counter is longer or shorter than a fixed bar suits, when you want light aimed down onto specific work zones, or when the ceiling is flat and could use some vertical interest.

A line calms a busy ceiling. A row gives a plain one something to look at.
